Guidelines for Pre-Scheduling Transportation

Our reservation lines are open to take ride requests 7 days a week 365 days a year. Prescheduled requests can be made from 8:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. every day.

Please be sure to have all necessary information ready when you place your call. Remember that you will share rides with others, so we may need to negotiate your pick-up time.
If your plans change or you cannot be ready at your scheduled time, please call us or cancel through the Shah My-Ride App. Your courtesy helps other riders reach their destinations on time.
River Cities Public Transit drivers will wait up to 5 minutes after arriving at the requested pick-up location before they leave. If no passenger is picked up this is considered a “no show” and the fare for that ride will be collected before the passenger is permitted to ride again. Also if another ride needs to be scheduled the day of the no show it is no longer considered a Pre-Scheduled Ride and will be scheduled at the Same Day or Demand Response fare.
No Show and Cancellation Agreement
In an effort to provide excellent customer service to all of our clients, and to provide the best possible transportation services, it is our policy to require a fee for a no showed ride. Please keep in mind you can cancel up to 1 hour before the scheduled ride with our office (605) 945-2360 or on the Shah My-Ride App without being assessed a no show fee. It is your responsibility to call us and cancel in advance.
The fee to be deducted will be the amount of the no showed ride and will be deducted from your fare card. In the event you do not have a fare card a no show fee will be added to your next ride or be added to your profile. Before riding again the no show fee will need to be paid in full or no transportation will be given.
Where’s My Bus?
Though we do our best to pick up passengers as close to their requested time as possible; there are “peak” hours throughout the day. In order to keep our routes as efficient as possible we allow our drivers a 15 minute window on rides. This means the bus can show up to 15 minutes before or after your requested time. If you are wondering about the status on your bus please call the office at 605-945-2360 and our dispatcher will be glad to give you the status report.
Shah My-Ride App
My-Ride is a new App that is the latest advancement in technology for River Cities Public Transit. With this App you will be able to track your bus location, check your Fare Card balance, and check ride times! This App was designed specifically for River Cities Public Transit.
Whether it’s to work, school, shopping, doctors’ appointments, or just to have fun, River Cities Public Transit, can provide you with transportation options to take you there.
